The Durango Area Association of Realtors (DAAR) has released the first quarter statistics and 2020 had a robust beginning.  Because March sales were so strong, up 25% over the same period in 2019, single-family sales for the first three months were up 10.6%.   The median price of a single-family home also climbed sharply in most segments. La Plata County Market Update

The second quarter MLS statistics for La Plata County were just released by the Durango Area  Association of Realtors and the number of residential sales are down from the same period in 2018 and the median price is slightly down. With only two quarters of data to report, it’s difficult to see what trends are occurring.  Overall, single family home sales have decreased 4.7% and the median price saw a 1.7% decrease when compared to 2018. The low number of homes for sale was squeezed even more after a severe winter that just wouldn’t quit.
