2018 Year End La Plata County Statistics

The 2018 MLS statistics for La Plata County were just released and they show strength in our local real estate market.  Overall, La Plata County home sales are down 3.1% while the median price rose 5.7%.  As all real estate is local, areas of the county with the highest median price gains are where the number of sales was reduced the most; areas of low inventory have the highest price increase. The first quarter MLS statistics for La Plata County were just released and the harsh winter weather appears to have taken its toll. The low number of homes for sale was squeezed even more after a severe winter that just wouldn’t quit. The second quarter MLS statistics for La Plata County were just released by the Durango Area  Association of Realtors and the number of residential sales are down from the same period in 2018 and the median price is slightly down. The Durango Area Association of Realtors (DAAR) has released the first quarter statistics and 2020 had a robust beginning.  Because March sales were so strong, up 25% over the same period in 2019, single-family sales for the first three months were up 10.6%.   The median price of a single-family home also climbed sharply in most segments.
