Description

Dunckley Flattops Ranch is a 1,268+/- acre working cattle and hunting ranch located 35 miles southwest of Steamboat Springs. The ranch consists of two sets of working facilities; new improvements include perimeter and cross fencing, several large ag buildings and pipe corrals with good water distribution. A 300 AF reservoir near the southeast corner holds water for irrigation that is exclusive to the property; no adjoining property owners have access to the water in the reservoir. The ranch is rich in history-the site of the Dunkley post office built in 1900-with water rights dating back to some of the original area settlers. Fall hunting for deer and elk on the ranch produces income and there is direct access on USFS Trail 1111 at the southern end of the ranch. The trail leads to the Dunkley Flattops, a geologically unique range characterized by flat mountains loaded with dense forests, open meadows, streams and lakes. 150+/- acres on the ranch are irrigated native hay meadows; the balance is a good mixture of ridges and valleys that support livestock and big game. The Dunckley Flattops Ranch is a year-round income producing cattle and hunting ranch with the right proportion of hay production, water and grazing preferred in a quality ranch.
